Senior Strength Instructor

Position Title: Senior Strength Group Fitness Instructor   

Accountable to: Group Fitness Manager 

 

Overview of responsibilities:   

Deliver a top-notch experience for our members and guest constantly. Leads various up-to-date types of safe group fitness classes including interval, strength training, and comprehensive exercises for all fitness levels. Strives to make the class the best part of participants’ day. Knowledge of the principles of exercise and proper techniques applicable to the class format.  Provide modifications for all fitness levels.  Leads by example and strives to be a positive, healthy role model for 212 Members and Guests.  

  

General Responsibilities:  

  • Maintains proper certification for class formats.   

  • Maintains a positive attitude and professionalism.   

  • Responds to emails from the Group Fitness Manager in a timely manner.  

  • Attends 212 staff meeting.  

  • Abides by the 212 Employee Handbook.  Ensures class needs are met through class routines and designated class format.  

  • Arrives at least 10min prior to class start times for setup and be available to assist new participants. 

  • Works with class participants to ensure they are performing exercises correctly and safely.   

  • Works as a Team player, collaboratively and cohesively with other Group Fitness Instructors on the Group Fitness Instructor Team. 

  • Greets class and makes announcements 

  • Preforms proper active warm-up and cool downs 

  • Uses clear, concise and consistent cues 

 

Group Fitness Instructor Certifications and Qualifications

  • National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) 

  • American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) 

  • American Council of Exercise (ACE) 

  • Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFFA) 

  • Les Mills Body Pump and Body Combat Certification 

  • Madd Dog Spinning Certification/Les Mills RPM/or other approved certification 

  • Aquatics Exercise Association (AEA) 

  • Lifeguard Certifications (Aqua Instructors) 

  • Group Exercise Certification (NETA) 

  • Or other approved certifications 

  • Certified CPR and AED

Compensation Plan: 

  • Non-exempt Part-time position 

  • Hourly compensation for Group exercise instructors includes class instruction, and other commission base services including time required for client communication (ie: schedule & confirm appointment times), planning time (ie: workout creation, music or choreography creation) room/equipment set-up, preparation and clean-up. 

Starting Pay: $15/hr
